Description
We’re looking for a detail-driven Payroll Specialist to oversee end-to-end payroll processing and compliance for our team. In this role, you’ll be the go-to expert for certified payroll reporting, prevailing wage requirements, and payroll audits. What You’ll Do
Run Accurate & Compliant Payroll
+ Manage and process multiple payrolls in Paycom with accuracy and timeliness.
+ Prepare and submit certified payroll reports for prevailing wage construction projects.
+ Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including HUD.
+ Maintain proper records and documentation to support audits and reporting.
Certified Payroll & Compliance
+ Oversee prevailing wage requirements, wage determinations, and fringe benefit calculations.
+ Submit certified payroll reports according to contract and regulatory deadlines.
+ Monitor changes in wage rates, benefits, and compliance rules; update processes as needed.
+ Serve as primary contact for auditors, government agencies, and compliance officers.
Payroll Support & Problem-Solving
+ Address employee payroll questions and resolve discrepancies quickly and professionally.
+ Partner with HR and project managers to confirm hours, job codes, and pay rates before payroll runs.
+ Identify opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
System Use & Process Improvement
+ Fully utilize Paycom for payroll setup, reporting, and integration with HR/Finance functions.
+ Maintain payroll standard operating procedures for accuracy and consistency.
+ Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to streamline reporting and workflows.
How We Work
+ Hybrid schedule—office-based with the option to work remotely on Fridays.
+ Collaboration: This role reports to the VP of HR and works closely with HR, project managers, finance, and external agencies.
+ Travel: Minimal, with occasional training or off-site meetings.
+ Work Setting: Primarily computer-based; may occasionally involve handling files or equipment.

-SALARY RANGE: $65,000-$75,000

Requirements
What You’ll Bring
+ 5+ years of payroll experience, with expertise in certified payroll and prevailing wage compliance.
+ Knowledge of Davis-Bacon, HUD, and related payroll compliance requirements.
+ Experience processing payroll in Paycom (or similar HRIS system).
+ Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple payroll cycles and deadlines.
+ Clear, professional communication skills for working with employees and compliance agencies.
+ A proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate and resolve payroll issues.
