Allied Universal® Technology Services is hiring a Payroll Specialist. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing for Allied Universal Technology Services, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payroll cycles, and maintaining compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations. The Payroll Specialist responds to employee inquiries and addresses all payroll related issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Payroll Processing:Review and report hours for the weekly, bi-weekly and union payroll cycles for approximately 1,100 employeesProcess and log all payroll adjustments, including retroactive pay, missed hours, bonuses, etc.Review and submit employee direct deposit and tax changesResearch and respond to all inquiries regarding missed hours and incorrect paySubmit payroll corrections for missed hours and/or incorrect pay for hourly employeesReview new hire set-up in the payroll system including location, job number, pay frequency, etc.Review AUTS employee report each day for any changes made to employee dataCompliance and Reporting:Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll tax laws, wage and hour laws, and regulationsEnsure compliance with internal and external payroll audit requirementsEmployee Support:Address employee inquiries and concerns related to payroll, including pay discrepancies and deductionsAssist in resolving payroll discrepancies and disputes, and work to ensure employee satisfactionProcess Improvement:Identify areas for process improvement and suggest enhancements to streamline payroll proceduresWork alongside Compensation Manager, IT, and Business Intelligence to implement process improvementsPrepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reportsQUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess one of the following:Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of studyHigh school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in payroll or compensationMinimum of three (3) minimum years of experience in payroll or compensationHighly proficient and fully functional in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel, and able to effectively utilize all available office management technologyAbility to successfully interact at all levels of the organization, while functioning as a team playerProven ability to maintain correspondence, discussions, and materials with strict discretionPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
SAP experienceCertified Payroll ExperienceAdvanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of studyRelevant Payroll or Compensation certificationsBENEFITS:
