Description We are looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate processing of payroll for while adhering to multi-state regulations and tax compliance. This is a long-term contract position offering a collaborative work environment and opportunities to manage complex payroll operations. Responsibilities: • Accurately process bi-weekly payroll employees and address off-cycle payroll needs as required. • Handle payroll tax forms and ensure compliance with changing regulations. • Register out-of-state withholding requirements and ensure accurate deductions. • Manage commuter pass requests and set up payroll deductions accordingly. • Process garnishments, including issuing vendor checks and ensuring correct calculations. • Run payroll reports and distribute them to relevant stakeholders. • Print and distribute paystubs in response to employee requests. • Collaborate effectively with team members to maintain operational efficiency and resolve payroll-related issues. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing. • Proficiency in multi-state payroll operations and tax compliance. • Experience working with payroll systems. • Strong understanding of payroll taxes, withholdings, and garnishments. • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. • Dependable team player capable of effectively managing deadlines.
