Payroll Specialist
Description We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Specialist to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing for a workforce of approximately 100 employees. This role offers the opportunity to work in the construction industry, where attention to detail and strong communication skills are key. Responsibilities: • Process full-cycle payroll for a workforce of around 100 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established policies. • Manually enter payroll data into the system, maintaining precision in all entries. • Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and provide clear, detail-oriented communication when resolving issues. • Collaborate with field employees and supervisors to verify timecards and other payroll documentation. • Manage payroll deductions, including garnishments, to ensure proper processing and recordkeeping. • Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and company policies related to payroll. • Utilize Sage 300 software for payroll processing tasks and maintain records within the system. • Assist with end-of-period reporting and reconciliation to support accurate financial documentation. • Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes for greater efficiency. • Support bilingual employees by providing assistance in both English and, if applicable, another language. Requirements • Proven experience in processing payroll for 100 or more employees, preferably in the construction industry. • Strong proficiency in manual payroll entry and full-cycle payroll processing. • Familiarity with payroll systems, with experience in Sage 300 being highly preferred. • Knowledge of payroll deductions, including garnishments, and their proper handling. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both field and office personnel. • Attention to detail and accuracy in managing payroll data and records. • Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy. • Bilingual proficiency in English and another language is a plus.
