We believe that when we bring our different perspectives to work, we are truly Better Together.Position Purpose / Summary StatementThe Payroll Specialist will:Process and manage payroll for non-US entities in North America, including implementations, HRIS integrations, and Time and Attendance installationsAmend, upgrade, and optimize payroll processes to align with Deckers’ best practicesCollaborate with Global Mobility, Corporate Tax, General Accounting, and Legal teamsSupport US payroll as a backup processor and assist with ad hoc reportingDevelop and deliver training videos for North America payroll systemsOrganizational RelationshipsDevelop and maintain productive, effective, and professional relationships with peers, superiors, auditors, and othersRepresent the company in a positive and supportive manner at all timesPrincipal Accountabilities & FunctionsEnsure SOX complianceManage and process payroll for all Mexican entitiesDesign, enhance, and train on new payroll practicesHandle all North America reporting including compliance agencies, benefit vendors, general accounting requests, and ad hoc reporting related to wages, hours, garnishments, and deferralsAct as subject matter expert for payroll processes during implementation eventsServe as backup processor for US and Canada payrollDevelop training materials and deliver training for all payroll products in North America, including Time and Attendance and middleware programsCollaborate with accounting teams in the US, Canada, and Mexico on vendor billing, payroll general ledgers, and accounting solutionsRequired QualificationsEducation / ExperienceBA in Accounting or equivalent experience3 years of payroll experienceCPP preferredAssociate’s degree in business preferredRequired CompetenciesSkills / Knowledge / BehaviorExperience in mid to large-sized companiesFamiliarity with SOX 404 complianceExperience with large payroll software packages (ADP strongly preferred)Functional CompetenciesProficient in Microsoft applicationsHighly intelligent and self-directingQuick learner of new software systems (e.g., Oracle, ADP)Motivated self-starter with a drive for excellenceStrong independent judgmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively in complex global organizations under competing prioritiesHigh degree of integrity and discretionExperience with ADP in a publicly traded companyCertificates, Licenses, RegistrationsPayroll certifications preferredWhat We'll Give You – Competitive Pay and Bonuses - We’ve created a variety of competitive compensation programs to foster career development, reward success and to show our employees just how much they’re valued.Financial Planning and wellbeing - No matter what financial goals our employees have set, we want to help them get there.
