Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in South San Francisco, California. This long-term contract position offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic non-profit organization, focusing on payroll compliance and regulatory audits. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who is comfortable managing high-volume environments and manual processes.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough audits of regular rate pay calculations to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Assist in payroll-related compliance initiatives specific to California regulations.
• Perform manual calculations using Excel spreadsheets to address payroll discrepancies.
• Collaborate with team members during system conversion projects, including Oracle 3B implementation.
• Provide expertise in wage orders, overtime, and holiday payroll processes.
• Support audits and reporting requirements by accurately compiling and analyzing payroll data.
• Utilize technology to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.
• Manage aspects of the new payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Work closely with the timekeeping system to track and resolve payroll-related issues.
• Handle payroll tasks in a high-volume environment, including bonus calculations and multi-state payroll processes. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll operations, preferably in high-volume settings.
• Certified Payroll certification (CPP) is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in manual payroll calculations and advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with payroll systems such as Workday, ADP Workforce Now, or UKG Pro.
• Expertise in wage orders, overtime regulations, and holiday pay compliance.
• Experience with system conversion projects and payroll software implementation.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate reporting.
• Grant experience within the non-profit sector is a plus.
