Payroll Specialist
Job Title: Payroll SpecialistJob Description As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for gathering information on hours worked for each employee and calculating the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, and bonuses with the assistance of a computer system. You will prepare and execute pay orders through an electronic system or distribute paychecks, administer statements of payment to personnel electronically or on paper, and process taxes and payment of employee benefits. Responsibilities + Gather information on hours worked for each employee. + Calculate the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, and bonuses. + Receive approval from upper management for payments when needed. + Prepare and execute pay orders through an electronic system or distribute paychecks. + Administer statements of payment to personnel either electronically or on paper. + Process taxes and payment of employee benefits. + Keep track of hour rates, wages, compensation benefit rates, and new hire information. + Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors. + Prepare reports for upper management and finance department. + Provide pro-active, timely, and knowledgeable customer service concerning payroll matters. + Research and resolve escalated issues related to payroll tax. + Work directly with human resources, field coworkers, and colleagues to investigate and resolve complex payroll and/or timekeeping issues. + Possess solid working knowledge of internal payroll practices and procedures. Essential Skills + Multi State Payroll processing experience. + Proficiency with ADP Vantage. + Experience handling tax processing for approximately 4000 employees. + Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in payroll tax. + Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills. + Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and human resources information systems. + Experience with Federal-Quarterly and Annual Tax Withholding filing. + Experience with State Income Tax- Quarterly and Annual Tax Withholding filing. + Experience with State Unemployment Tax- Quarterly Tax Withholding filing. + Experience with Local Tax – Monthly and/or Quarterly Tax Filing and Annual Reconciliations. + Experience with Corporate Income Tax filing. + Experience with managing Tax Audits. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or equivalent years of experience. + Bilingual communication skills preferred. + Experience working with offshore teams is desired. + Experience with setup of new Company and Jurisdictions. + Experience with Amendment Filings to correct previous quarters and years filings. + Experience with State Registration with new companies and/or changes in companies. + Experience with Report Agent Authorization: Power of Attorney (POA) Declarations and Third-Party Administrator (TPA) Authorization forms. + Experience with Quarterly Statement of Deposits and Filings. Work Environment The role is located in an office in Plano, TX, off of Headquarters drive. You will be part of a small team of 3 members along with a Payroll manager. The work environment is collaborative and requires on-site presence, five days per week. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr.
