Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in Modesto, California. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while adhering to compliance standards. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with strong organizational skills and a background in managing payroll for large teams. Responsibilities: • Process weekly payroll and issue checks or direct deposit stubs with precision and timeliness. • Distribute payroll checks to department heads for further distribution. • Prepare required forms and reports related to payroll operations. • Gather and compile payroll data, including garnishments, vacation balances, insurance deductions, and other mandatory withholdings. • Generate certified payroll reports and manage electronic submissions in compliance with labor regulations. • Maintain a strong understanding of labor compliance programs such as Department of Industrial Relations and related trackers. • Ensure all paperwork and office procedures align with payroll requirements and compliance standards. • Create, upload, and post hourly and monthly equipment usage files in Vista. • Set up job codes and phases in Kronos, as well as prevailing wage job configurations in Vista. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing, including full-cycle payroll. • Proficiency in handling payroll for teams exceeding 500 employees. • Familiarity with certified payroll and prevailing wage regulations. • Hands-on experience with Kronos and Vista systems. • Strong knowledge of labor compliance programs and reporting requirements. • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines. • Proficiency in Windows operating systems, including Vista.
