Description We are looking for a meticulous Payroll Specialist to join a non-profit organization based in Norwalk, Connecticut. This contract position offers the opportunity to manage payroll operations for a workforce of approximately 300 employees. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Paylocity and multi-state payroll processes.
Responsibilities:
• Process full-cycle payroll for a workforce of approximately 300 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Manage multi-state payroll operations, adhering to federal, state, and local regulations.
• Utilize Paylocity software to efficiently handle payroll tasks and resolve system-related issues.
• Verify employee timekeeping records and address discrepancies promptly.
• Calculate wages, deductions, and other payroll adjustments with precision.
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
• Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll processing.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters in a timely and thorough manner.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Identify areas for improvement in payroll processes and recommend solutions. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field with at least 2 years of payroll experience, OR an Associate degree with 5 years of payroll experience, OR a High School Diploma with 7 years of payroll expertise.
• Proficiency in full-cycle payroll processing, including handling complex calculations and adjustments.
• Experience managing multi-state payroll operations.
• Strong familiarity with Paylocity software and its functionalities.
• Solid understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills for effectively addressing payroll-related inquiries.
