Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Contract Payroll Processor to support our manufacturing company in Chehalis, WA. This role is critical in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for approximately 175 full-time employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll compliance, tax regulations, and experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
+ Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
+ Maintain payroll records, including time and attendance data, tax forms, and direct deposit information.
+ Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information and implementing corrective actions.
+ Calculate and validate wages, overtime, and other employee compensation based on company policies.
+ Prepare and file all payroll tax reports, including quarterly and year-end reports (e.g., W-2s, 1099s).
+ Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations related to payroll and employee compensation.
+ Collaborate with HR to update employee records for new hires, terminations, and benefit deductions.
+ Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, ensuring professionalism and confidentiality.
+ Stay up-to-date on changes in payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
Requirements
+ Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in processing payroll, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
+ Proficiency in payroll software systems; experience with [Insert Payroll Software Name, if applicable] is a plus.
+ Strong understanding of payroll tax laws and compliance requirements.
+ Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
+ Strong problem-solving and communication skills to effectively address payroll-related issues.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
+ Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred but not required.
