Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team in Southfield, Michigan. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliance with tax regulations across multiple states. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with a strong background in payroll and tax administration. Responsibilities: • Process payroll accurately and on time for employees across multiple states. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations. • Handle multi-state payroll processing, including tax calculations and reporting. • Collaborate with internal teams to address payroll discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently. • Maintain and update payroll records to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Assist in preparing and filing payroll tax returns. • Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations, especially multi-state requirements. • Provide support during audits and ensure payroll documentation is organized and accessible. • Contribute to the improvement of payroll processes and systems for greater efficiency. Requirements • Proven experience in payroll processing, preferably with multi-state payroll administration. • Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements. • Familiarity with multi-state payroll and tax processing systems. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office tools. • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and external stakeholders. • Problem-solving skills to address payroll discrepancies and tax-related issues. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
