Our client, a well-established company located in downtown Houston, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. Key Responsibilities: + Accurately process payroll for over 5,000 employees across multiple states, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. + Manage payroll tasks using Workday, leveraging its full capabilities for better efficiency and accuracy. + Handle complex payroll reporting, audits, and reconciliations. + Assist with identifying and resolving payroll discrepancies in a timely manner. + Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to payroll and tax filings. + Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to streamline payroll processes and support organizational goals. Requirements Qualifications: + 3+ years of hands-on payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume environment. + Proficiency with Workday payroll systems is required. + Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processing and payroll tax laws. + Experience processing payroll for workforces of at least 5,000 employees is highly preferred. + Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and organizational skills. + Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
