Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team in North Augusta, South Carolina. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliance with relevant regulations. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with strong organizational skills and experience in handling payroll functions across various systems. Responsibilities: • Process payroll for employees in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to federal, state, and local regulations. • Manage accounts payable tasks associated with payroll processing. • Perform general ledger accounting duties, including reconciling payroll-related accounts. • Utilize payroll software, such as QuickBooks Workforce, to maintain accurate employee records and transactions. • Conduct detailed data entry to ensure precision in payroll information. • Support benefits administration by tracking employee benefits and deductions. • Collaborate with HR to verify employee hours, overtime, and leave balances for accurate reporting. • Prepare payroll metric reports and assist with audits as required. • Reconcile accounts payable, handle check payments, and categorize financial transactions. • Process employee expense reports and record payments in accounting systems. Requirements • Proven experience in payroll processing, including full-cycle and multi-state payroll. • Proficiency in using payroll and accounting software, especially QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online. • Familiarity with payroll tax reporting and compliance requirements. • Strong understanding of benefits administration and related functions. • Solid skills in accounts payable and general ledger reconciliation. • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry tasks. • Ability to generate reports and support audits effectively. • Excellent organizational and communication skills to collaborate across teams.
