Payroll Specialist
Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in Downey, California. In this long-term contract role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of payroll operations within a dynamic and collaborative environment. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to system enhancements and compliance standards while working closely with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities: • Lead and oversee the implementation of Human Capital Management software, ensuring seamless integration with organizational needs. • Partner with HR, IT, and finance teams to identify and establish payroll system requirements. • Configure, test, and troubleshoot payroll processes within the newly adopted system. • Execute data migration, validation, and reconciliation tasks to maintain payroll accuracy. • Develop and present training materials to support payroll staff and end-users. • Act as the primary liaison with software vendors to address and resolve technical issues. • Maintain compliance with payroll regulations, policies, and reporting standards. • Provide ongoing post-implementation support, including system updates and troubleshooting. • Collaborate with district stakeholders to align payroll processes with organizational goals. Requirements • Proficiency in accounting software systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, and Dayforce. • Strong knowledge of payroll functions, including 401k and RRSP administration. • Experience with auditing and benefit functions. • Familiarity with data migration and reconciliation processes. • Ability to configure and test payroll systems for optimal performance. • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. • Knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance standards. • Proven ability to develop training materials and deliver user support.
