Payroll Specialist
Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist a team on a long-term contract basis in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliance during a time of organizational growth. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in payroll systems and employee time management tools. Responsibilities: • Process payroll for weekly, biweekly, and monthly schedules with precision and adherence to company policies. • Manage timekeeping systems, including integration with master control products, ensuring accurate tracking of employee hours. • Utilize accounting software systems to maintain payroll records and resolve discrepancies. • Collaborate with HR and benefits teams to ensure proper handling of employee benefits and deductions. • Support payroll operations during periods of workforce expansion, ensuring smooth transitions and scalability. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to payroll systems and employee inquiries. • Assist in setting up and managing company codes within payroll systems. • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive employee payroll information. Requirements • Proven experience in payroll processing for multiple schedules (weekly, biweekly, monthly). • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now and other payroll/accounting systems. • Strong knowledge of accounting and benefit functions related to payroll. • Familiarity with timeclock systems and master control products. • Ability to manage payroll operations during organizational growth periods. • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. • Knowledge of payroll compliance regulations at federal, state, and local levels. • Strong communication skills for collaboration with HR and other departments. **All candidates must undergo drug and background screening for consideration Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
