Payroll Specialist | $25–$28/hour | Hybrid After 90 Days | Growth-Oriented Team
Location: Onsite in Twin Cities (Hybrid eligible after 90 days)
Compensation: $25.00 – $28.00/hour + Annual Bonus Potential
Employment Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
Are you detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about process improvement in payroll? We’re working with a growing, mission-driven organization seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their collaborative and high-performing team. This role offers a fantastic mix of payroll processing, system improvement, and project work — with the opportunity to learn and grow within a dynamic team.
What You’ll Do:
+ Process bi-weekly payroll and 3–4 monthly off-cycle payrolls, including quarterly bonus runs and holiday adjustments.
+ Audit timecards, address discrepancies, and ensure payroll accuracy across multi-state employees.
+ Partner closely with HR and Accounting to complete payroll prep, reporting, and system updates.
+ Take ownership of payroll projects including SOP updates, benefit invoice reconciliation, and journal entries.
+ Respond to inquiries via shared inbox and Teams; provide white-glove internal customer service.
+ Rotate duties within the team and cross-train on invoicing, garnishment prep, and payroll-related compliance.
Requirements
What They’re Looking For:
+ 1–2+ years of payroll experience; open to early-career professionals with a sharp eye for detail.
+ Strong aptitude for numbers and critical thinking — a true problem solver with a curious mindset.
+ Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with strong time management.
+ Collaborative by nature, yet able to work independently and take direction well.
+ Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and familiarity with HRIS/Payroll systems.
+ Experience with accounting systems and invoice processing is a plus.

+ Flexible start time between 7:00–8:30 a.m. Monday–Friday.
+ In-office for the first 90 days and during payroll processing weeks; hybrid (2 days remote) available after.
Compensation & Benefits:
+ $25.00–$28.00/hour
