Payroll Specialist
Description A Payroll Specialist is a key role within the Human Resources (HR) or Finance team, responsible for managing payroll processes accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies. Expertise in payroll software like ADP and UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) is essential for this position. Requirements + Payroll Processing + Process and manage payroll cycles using ADP Workforce Now or UKG Pro, ensuring timely and accurate compensation for employees (Source: SG25 US Human Resources.docx). + Update employee records, pay rates, benefits, deductions, and tax information in ADP/UKG platforms. + Handle time and attendance inputs in UKG for calculation of overtime, vacation, or sick leave payouts. + Compliance and Reporting + Ensure compliance with all federal, state/local labor laws and payroll tax requirements (Source: SG25-SALARY TREND). + Generate audit-ready payroll reports for management using ADP or UKG reporting tools. + Stay updated on tax law changes and proactively update payroll systems accordingly. + Problem Resolution + Troubleshoot payroll discrepancies, investigate variances, and resolve employee inquiries related to paychecks, deductions, or benefits. + Liaise with HR and Finance to reconcile data and ensure smooth payroll operations across ADP/UKG platforms. + HR and Benefits Integration + Collaborate with the HR department to align payroll with benefits administration, onboarding, and offboarding (Source: SG25 US Human Resources.docx). + Ensure accurate tracking and integration of benefits, such as 401(k), health insurance, and FSA/HSA, directly into the payroll system. + Process Improvement + Suggest strategies for streamlining payroll processes and maintaining data integrity with enhanced use of ADP and UKG platforms (Source: SG25-SALARY TREND). Qualifications: + Experience: 2+ years of payroll experience, with hands-on knowledge of ADP Workforce Now, ADP Run, or UKG Pro. + Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
