Emerson is looking for a Payroll Specialist (2 years) for our office in Cluj (Romania). The role's main goal is ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and statutory reporting according to the Payroll Calendar. The Payroll Specialist will offer reliable service to employees and managers for payroll and compensation queries specific to the local context. They will collaborate with HR and business leaders on payroll matters and work with Vendor/Digital HCM for system upgrades and training. Additionally, the Payroll Specialist will support payroll operations in tandem with HR and finance, addressing related issues. -They will also be key in auditing and improving payroll practices for better efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

**In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:**
+ Evaluate and improve payroll processes for accuracy and productivity.
+ Compile payroll input data, manage records, and ensure timely updates.
+ Validate payroll data compliance with legal and internal standards.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders to implement payroll-related legal changes.
+ Handle statutory reporting, liaising with tax authorities for compliance, and also management and ad hoc payroll reporting,
+ Support internal and external audit processes.
+ Review payroll reports to resolve discrepancies and generate necessary documentation.
+ Maintain payroll document archiving in line with legal requirements.
+ Serve as primary payroll contact, partnering with HR and addressing employee inquiries.
+ Ensure proper maintenance and documentation of payroll records.
+ Develop and update labor forms according to legal and internal guidelines.

**For This Role, You Will Need:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, human resources, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
+ Minimum 5 years’ experience in payroll processing or a similar accounting role, with in-depth knowledge of in country labour laws, taxation, and statutory compliance.
+ Math and analysis proficiency.
+ Proficiency in local language and English
+ Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
**Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:**
+ Experience in a matrix organization or working in a Center of Excellence
+ Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and time and attendance systems.
+ Proficiency in payroll software (SAP and/or ADP) and Microsoft Office applications, with experience in implementing and managing payroll systems.
+ Solid understanding of financial principles, including balancing payroll with financial records, managing audits, and conducting compliance assessments.
