Payroll Manager
Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations and accounts payable processes for our team in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations, and driving efficiency in payroll and accounts payable functions. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with extensive experience in payroll management and a strong ability to navigate complex systems and workflows. Responsibilities: • Supervise payroll and accounts payable teams, providing guidance and support to maintain high levels of productivity and accuracy. • Ensure compliance with company policies, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. • Oversee payroll processing for hourly and field employees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to labor agreements and regulatory standards. • Collaborate with regional controllers and finance teams to address payroll issues and identify opportunities for process improvements. • Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders, fostering a customer-focused approach. • Participate in management meetings to provide updates and insights on payroll processes and departmental performance. • Develop and implement internal controls to ensure compliance with audits and company policies. • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities to support financial reporting and cost control. • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within payroll and accounts payable functions. • Prepare and review reports and metrics to keep leadership informed of departmental activities and outcomes. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent detail-oriented experience. • At least 8 years of management experience in payroll and accounts payable, combining administrative, supervisory, and analytical skills. • Proficiency in Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Nexus, Heavy Jobs, Workday, and advanced Microsoft Office Suite. • Certified Payroll certification is highly desirable. • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to work effectively in a matrix management environment. • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities to provide creative solutions to challenges. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of engaging with employees and management at all levels. • Ability to handle high-pressure environments and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
