Kforce has a client in Newark, DE that is seeking a Payroll Manager.
Duties:
* Manage and supervise the processing of weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for all employees
* Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
* Review and resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiries regarding payroll matters
* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws, including tax filing, wage and hour laws, and garnishments
* Prepare and file payroll tax reports, including quarterly and annual filings (e.g., 941, state filings, W-2s, etc.)
* Maintain and update knowledge of payroll best practices, tax changes, and legal requirements
* Manage and train the payroll team, providing guidance, support, and ensuring best practices are followed
* Conduct regular performance reviews and facilitate team development
* Oversee the administration and maintenance of payroll software/systems.
* Troubleshoot any issues related to payroll processing systems and resolve them in a timely manner
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, including employee pay history, deductions, and benefits
* Ensure proper filing of payroll-related documents for auditing purposes and compliance
* Act as the point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees, managers, and other departments
* Communicate effectively with employees regarding payroll changes, deductions, and benefits
* Perform regular payroll audits and reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and address discrepancies
* Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and reports
