The Role: The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for working with the existing payroll team to perform all payroll related activities for the North American Shared Service group. A successful Payroll Coordinator will be able to independently handle the day-to-day payroll processing requirements while working with the Payroll Supervisor and Manager to help drive process improvements.
Process full cycle end-to-end payrolls for the US and Canada.
Address employee inquiries and resolve payroll-related issues or discrepancies
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, pay rates, tax details, and leave records
Ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations
Lead efforts to enhance efficiency in operations and technology to support a touchless payroll cycle
Prepare and cross audit off-cycle payroll entries
Perform critical review of periodic earnings, deductions and garnishments in support of company obligations
Assist in compliance with all Federal, State and Local employment law
Serve as a point of contact between multiple departments regarding payroll matters
Effectively communicate, with strong attention to detail
Assist the team in identifying areas where enhancements can be made to streamline existing workflows
Support the team with distributions of required materials, e.g., reports, mailings, etc., while looking for ways to automate and replace manual tasks with refined process or technology improvements
2+ years of experience processing payroll for large U.S. or Canadian employers (Canadian/US experience preferred)
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) accreditation preferred
Experience with Canadian payroll preferred
A self-starter attitude, reliability and a strong work ethic
Experience working with Dayforce, Workday, or ADP Workforce Now
Experience building custom reports
The ability to prioritize workload and ensure timely issue resolution
World-class customer service
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), attention to detail, organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of confidentiality
The skill to deliver top work in a fast paced environment
The desire to learn new processes and platforms
Proficiency in payroll software, accounting practices, Outlook, Excel, and Google Suite
The ability to work as a part of a larger group
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$60,000 - $101,500Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
