Payroll - Construction Experience

As our team grows, we’re seeking a Construction Payroll Specialist to manage and process weekly payroll for field and office staff. Position Summary: The Construction Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurately processing multi-state, weekly union and non-union payrolls, managing certified payroll reporting, and ensuring compliance with prevailing wage and labor regulations. Key Responsibilities: + Process weekly payroll for field crews and office staff (including union and non-union employees) + Ensure compliance with prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements + Maintain accurate employee records, timecards, and job cost coding + Track and process employee deductions, garnishments, and benefits + Generate certified payroll reports and submit to appropriate agencies + Coordinate with HR and project managers to verify hours, job classifications, and project allocations + Prepare and file quarterly and annual payroll tax reports + Support audits and respond to payroll-related inquiries Requirements Qualifications: + 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in the construction industry + Experience with certified payroll, Davis-Bacon, and prevailing wage requirements + Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., Viewpoint, Sage 300, Foundation, Deltek ComputerEase, QuickBooks) + Strong understanding of union payroll rules and multi-state tax compliance + High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail + Excellent time management and communication skills Preferred Qualifications: + Familiarity with Washington state L& I reporting + Knowledge of fringe benefit tracking and reporting + Experience working with general contractors or subcontractors Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
