Description Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join their team in Hillsborough, New Jersey. In this contract-to-permanent position, you will play a key role in managing payroll operations for a large workforce, ensuring accuracy and compliance with multi-state regulations. Payroll Clerk Responsibilities: • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for over 1,000 employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Manage payroll for multi-state employees, adhering to state-specific regulations and compliance requirements. • Handle union payroll tasks, ensuring proper calculations and reporting. • Input and update employee data, including new hires, terminations, direct deposits, W-4 changes, and address changes. • Assist with light billing duties as needed to support overall financial operations. • Maintain payroll records and documentation, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, providing accurate and timely resolutions. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless payroll processing and address any discrepancies. • Handle and process workers' compensation and disability claims. • Answer compliance-related inquiries, including unemployment claims. Requirements • Proven experience in processing full-cycle payroll, including weekly and bi-weekly schedules. • Familiarity with multi-state payroll regulations and compliance standards. • Experience handling payroll for unionized workforces is highly desirable. • Knowledge of payroll garnishments and deductions processes. • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records. • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle large-scale payroll operations. • Effective communication skills to address employee inquiries and collaborate with internal teams.
