Description
Our client is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bilingual Payroll Clerk to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing payroll operations and possess strong communication skills in both English and Spanish. In this position, you will be responsible for processing payroll efficiently and accurately, addressing payroll inquiries, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Candidates must be able to work Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the flexibility to assist on weekends as needed.
Key Responsibilities
+ Process employee payroll on a regular schedule, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
+ Check timesheets, verify hours worked, and resolve any discrepancies in an accurate and professional manner.
+ Maintain payroll records, tax documents, and other compliance-related materials.
+ Address and respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees in both English and Spanish.
+ Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, as well as company policies.
+ Handle the submission of payroll taxes, deductions, and benefit contributions.
+ Assist with onboarding new hires to set up payroll and explain timecard procedures.
+ Work collaboratively with HR and accounting departments to ensure seamless payroll processes.
+ Provide support for audits related to payroll and employee records.
+ Occasionally assist with additional administrative tasks as requested.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
+ High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree is a plus but not required)
+ Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in payroll.
Language Skills:
+ Must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication in both languages.
Technical Skills:
+ Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms).
+ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
+ Understanding of payroll tax laws and regulations.
Additional Skills and Attributes:
+ Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve payroll discrepancies.
+ Flexible and willing to work occasional weekends.
