SUMMARY:
The Payroll and Benefits Accountant is responsible for performing reconciliations of general ledger accounts, preparing and posting journal entries, and making time entry and timecard adjustments. Additionally, this role involves handling various incentive and other benefit accounting tasks as assigned. The Payroll Accountant ensures accuracy and compliance with company policies and relevant regulations while supporting the overall financial operations of the organization.
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Record and reconcile payroll journal entriesReconcile other payroll and benefits-related general ledger accounts on a weekly and monthly basis, as assigned. Reconcile cash to bank account with every payroll.Maintain incentive and payroll accruals, ensuring accuracy and updating as necessaryAdjust timecards for employees and audit payroll reports to ensure time is accurately statedHelp apply for new state tax accounts as requestedSupport month-end close processesSupport incentives department with data entry and incentive calculationsIdentify internal control issues and inefficiencies and make recommendations for improvementsBASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent education and experience
2 years accounting experience, including reconciliation experience
Strong analytical and communication skills
Proficiency with electronic accounting tools, including Excel and Word
Ability to work in a team environment
Excellent organizational skills with a high sense of urgency to meet deadlines

COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this position is $31.00 - $34.62 per hour, based on the specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Experience of the selected candidate.
This position is eligible for Semi Annual Incentive compensation based on individual and company performance guidelines.
