The Union Payroll Associate performs a variety of functions necessary for the accurate and timely processing of multi-state, multi-company, weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for union and non-union freelance employees. The Union Payroll Associate coordinates, validates, and implements work procedures that require comprehensive operational knowledge of union collective bargaining agreements and federal and state regulations related to wage garnishment, taxation, and wage‐hour law.
This is a Regular/Full Time, hybrid role, requiring a minimum of two days per week working onsite in the LA office.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform all duties necessary to ensure timely and accurate processing of multi-state, multi-company weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for union and non-union freelance employees in accordance with collective bargaining agreements and other contracts, and in compliance with applicable FOX policies and federal, state, and local regulationsProcess on-demand payments, retroactive payments, one-time payments, tax adjustments, stop payments, void checks, direct deposit reversals, and overpayment collections in accordance with FOX policies, collective bargaining agreements, and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulationsInterpret and set up withholding orders for levies, garnishments, child support, and other involuntary wage assignment orders in the payroll system within the regulated periodUnderstand union pay and paid time off rules and the timekeeping system, and address employee questions as neededUnderstand proper taxation of all employee payments, including employer-paid union benefits, and address employee questions as neededAssist employees and management with questions, concerns, or requests regarding payroll. This includes properly applying technical knowledge and skills, communicating, and listening effectivelyEnsure compliance with all company policies, internal controls, and SOX controls.WHAT YOU WILL NEED
3+ years of hands-on union payroll processing experience in the entertainment industryExperience with interpreting and setting up withholding orders for levies, garnishments, child support, and other involuntary wage assignment ordersExperience and knowledge of automated time and attendance systemsStrong working knowledge of FLSA, federal, state, and local wage and hour, and tax regulationsIntermediate Excel using VLOOKUP and pivotsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent judgment, analytical, and problem-solving skillsHigh degree of professionalism and solid ability in delivering high-quality customer service and establishing/maintaining effective and collaborative working relationshipsAbility to interpret collective bargaining agreements for pay and paid time off rules, preferably for the entertainment industryAbility to work independently and as a team playerAbility to explain all payroll calculations and deductions to employees and all levels of managementNICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $32.00-36.06 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
