This role contributes to Starbucks' success by preparing and inputting payroll data to ensure partners are paid accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll operations, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Daily Responsibilities:Process payroll cycles (on-cycle, off-cycle, and separations)Communicate effectively with internal stakeholdersValidate and apply payroll guidance accuratelyIdentify process gaps and recommend improvementsEnsure compliance with payroll policies and regulationsProvide clear explanations of payroll information to non-payroll partnersFollow best practices in payroll operations and escalate issues as neededIdentify learning opportunities to enhance team expertiseTeam Interaction:Highly collaborative with cross-functional teamsSupportive team culture where everyone has each other’s backsOpen environment that encourages questions and continuous learningKey Projects:Pay Mod Project: Support day-to-day operations (e.g., printing, cycle processing) to enable partners to focus on project executionRequired Skills & Experience:2+ years of payroll experience (full-cycle processing)Proficiency in Excel and SmartsheetExperience with multi-state payroll, garnishments, and time entryStrong communication skills (written and verbal)Analytical mindset with the ability to work independently and in a teamExcellent time management and ability to balance multiple prioritiesStrong customer service orientationHigh attention to detailPreferred Qualifications:Experience with SAP and SuccessFactorsFamiliarity with federal, state, local, and/or provincial labor, payroll, garnishment, and tax lawsRelevant payroll certificationsTechnology Requirements:Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required)SmartsheetSAP (preferred)SuccessFactors (preferred)Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
