Payroll Analyst 2
Overview We are seeking a full-time Payroll Analyst 2 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for executing activities necessary to process, verify and reconcile payroll using ADP Payroll and time/attendance records in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations. Essential Functions Recommends process improvements for payroll processing efficiencies Leverages payroll knowledge to execute payroll and time/attendance processing Provides information, advice and counsel to associates regarding payroll questions Reviews payroll tax procedures to ensure compliance with all governmental regulations Reviews/processes adjustments to quarter and year-end reporting to ensure accurate reporting (coordinate with ADP) Processes/reviews jurisdictional setups, changes and deletions, coordinating with Tax and Finance departments Coordinates agency tax audits Identifies/monitors proper payroll and tax procedures Reviews the setting up and processing of garnishments, child support orders, bankruptcies and levies for compliance Reviews/approves biweekly journal entries into month end allocations for compliance Responds to inquiries from Finance regarding journal entries and troubleshoots budget related questions Recommends process improvements for payroll processing and efficiencies Develops/provides requested reports using ADP Reporting or Kronos reporting tools Mentors and/or provides training for less experienced team members Applies a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities Works collaboratively and professionally with other Garmin associates and performs as a solid contributor on cross functional teams to achieve goals Applies Garmin's Mission, Vision, Values & Quality Policy and enthusiastically exhibits a desire to see Garmin succeed SPECIALIZATION AREA: Associates may have the opportunity to perform the following benefits related functions in lieu of, or in addition to, the essential functions noted above: Administration of all employer provided benefit plans including calculation and reconciliation of benefit plan bills and set up of deductions using ADP PayForce software Maintains relationships with outside payroll/benefits vendors including coordinating with third party administrator/insurance carrier to resolve enrollment or billing discrepancies Performs troubleshooting for all benefits/401k issues Analyzes and manages 401K loan discrepancies, processes 401k confirmation for TRP, and performs 401k audits/discrimination testing Administration of payroll records and calculates paychecks for all types of leave of absences Identifies needs and process improvements through analysis of Kronos and ADP to offer recommendations for changes to these systems in regards to benefits Performs audits to ensure accuracy of time off accruals and balances Manages PTO reconciliation balances between ADP & Kronos systems Provides and/or compiles information required for audit purposes Ensures compliant reporting of benefits Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Accounting, or another related discipline AND a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience OR a Master’s Degree in HR, Business or related discipline AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) Demonstrates proficient knowledge and possess a minimum of 3 years experience processing payroll, leveraging knowledge of payroll compliance and payroll taxing regulations Must demonstrate proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word and Excel Maintains working knowledge of organizational business units and competitive market Proven reputation as an approachable and effective payroll professional serving associates and the organization Demonstrates working knowledge of payroll concepts, data collection, and analysis. Demonstrates understanding of HR, Finance, and Payroll related legislation, practices, processes, programs and technology Demonstrates strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution experience Demonstrates the capacity to mentor or train others Must be detail oriented and demonstrate the ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively with minimal supervision Must be team oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others Must possess demonstrated effective presentation skills and public speaking ability Must possess previous experience and commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding business and Human Resources matters Demonstrates effective time management, organizational and follow up skills with a keen attention to detail and quality Demonstrated ability to leverage business knowledge and HR metrics in decision making Desired Qualifications FPC or CPP designation Previous experience using ADP payroll software Previous experience using Kronos Workforce Central Time/Attendance software Previous experience with implementing and/or upgrading payroll or HRIS software Previous experience processing payroll for 1000+ employees Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
