Payroll Administrator

Our client in the construction industry is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to manage payroll operations and ensure their team is paid accurately and on time. Key Responsibilities: + Payroll Processing: Prepare and process weekly or bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including specialized pay for construction projects (e.g., overtime, prevailing wage, and union payroll). + Tax and Compliance: Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as construction-related payroll laws such as prevailing wage standards. + Employee Records: Manage and maintain payroll records, employee timecards, and benefits information. + Deductions & Adjustments: Calculate voluntary and involuntary deductions, including union dues, benefits, garnishments, and contributions. + Reporting: Generate payroll reports for management, finance, and HR; assist with audits and reconciliations as needed. + Communication: Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and deductions with professionalism. Requirements + Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (preferred but not required with relevant experience). + Experience: 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in the construction or related industries. + Software Proficiency: Strong experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paylocity, or other industry-specific tools; proficiency in Microsoft Excel. + Knowledge: Familiarity with union payroll, prevailing wage laws, compliance in construction payroll, and multi-state regulations is highly preferred. + Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. + Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally and provide clear support to employees and managers.
