Payroll Administrator
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this contract position, you will be responsible for managing payroll processes, maintaining attendance records, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments. Responsibilities: • Maintain accurate attendance and leave records, verifying and correcting work hours data as needed. • Process bi-weekly payroll for operators, ensuring data accuracy and compliance. • Verify time entries in organizational systems and transfer data to PeopleSoft for payroll processing. • Enter and manage data within computerized databases to support payroll and attendance tracking. • Track and document operator vacation, personal time, sick leave, and other types of leave. • Ensure adherence to bargaining unit contracts and work rules while handling payroll-related tasks. • Prepare daily and special reports, providing timely updates to the Manager of Bus Transportation. • Organize department files and manage records in alignment with records management policies. • Foster effective communication and collaboration with operators, supervisors, and other personnel. • Perform specialized clerical and administrative duties to support departmental operations. Requirements • Proficiency in accounting software systems such as ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian. • Experience with payroll systems and reporting tools like Crystal Reports. • Familiarity with benefit functions, including 401k and RRSP administration. • Strong knowledge of auditing and accounting functions. • Ability to manage attendance tracking and leave documentation. • Excellent organizational skills to maintain records and prepare reports. • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members. • Knowledge of bargaining unit contracts and related work rules is preferred.
