Our client in the West Austin, TX area is seeking a Payroll Accounting Manager to join their team.

Responsibilities and experience include:

Preferred Skills

Hands on experience with Oracle HCM or ERP systems, ideally Oracle Redwood UI

Payroll accounting expertise, including GL reconciliation and payroll-related journal entries

Payroll operations leadership in a multi-entity environment

Experience streamlining and automating payroll processes, including implementing workflows within Oracle systems

Exposure to multi-state payroll compliance and tax regulations

Operational Leadership

Oversee day-to-day payroll operations for 8 of 12 associations in the district covering multiple states, totaling around 1,900 employees

Supervise and develop two direct reports: a Payroll Processor and a Payroll Accountant

Maintain accurate and timely payroll-related journal entries and GL reconciliations

Process Evaluation & Improvement

Conduct an initial audit and forensics assessment of payroll processes

Identify opportunities for automation, workflow improvement, and efficiency gains

Leverage Oracle Redwood UI and available tools to streamline operations

Reduce reliance on Excel spreadsheets and manual processes for data entry and reconciliation

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

Serve as liaison between internal and external payroll processing partner

Maintain and strengthen relationships with CEOs and leaders of 8 participating associations

Compliance & Controls

Ensure payroll data integrity and accuracy in a highly regulated financial institution

Maintain compliance with federal, state, and multi-state payroll tax and employment regulations

Support audit readiness and documentation of payroll and accounting processes

Work closely with internal teams on the execution and verification of payroll wires
