As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Commercial & Investment Bank Wholesale Payments Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

 

Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceStrong experience in Core Java, Object Oriented, RDBMS (Oracle), SQL, Spring, ORM (JPA/Hibernate) and Unix Scripts with over 10 + years experienceExperience in architecting and building secure, highly available, resilient, scalable systems leveraging clustering and load balancing of web/app servers and messaging systems Knowledge of container-based development, orchestration, microservices frameworks, and tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Spring Boot, Swagger) Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityHands-on end-to-end project delivery responsibilitiesEnsure the team delivers timely key milestones supporting a clear roadmap and requirementsClarify and defend architecture and design decisions and ensure they are practical and feasible to implement by the team.Partner with technology peers and product owners and lead collaborative efforts to ensure a successful end-to-end project deliveryAbility to translate functional requirements to technical design and requirementsPerform code reviews, develop and review test scenarios in collaboration with QA Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Strong understanding of Agile methodology and ceremonies leveraging SDLC tools to improve development and testing efficiency (JIRA, Jenkins, GIT, JUnit, Selenium, Lint) is a plusExperience in Cloud and Container based development (Gaia, Kube) is a plusExperience using NoSQL / BigData Stores (Cassandra, Elastic Search, Cloudera Stack or H-Base) is a plusBanking and payments domain background is a plus
