Payment Operations Specialist I

Description

As the Payment Operations Specialist I, you are responsible for monitoring account payables and receivables for the Operations team. While in this role, you will review payment requests to ensure they comply with policies and procedures. You will also track vendor payments and review their status to identify any issues that may have occurred.

Primary responsibilities include

Provide responsive and professional phone and email support to Citizens’ corporate clients and internal teams, demonstrating strong communication skills.Research and resolve inquiries related to ACH transactions and account activity, ensuring timely and accurate responses.Execute routine tasks and responsibilities aligned with departmental operations and service level expectations.Adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Demonstrate strong time management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.Quickly learn and adapt to new systems, processes, and software tools.Exhibit reliability, flexibility, professionalism, and sound judgment in all interactions.Show a willingness to cross-train and support more complex functions related to ACH origination.Maintain a customer-centric mindset, ensuring a positive experience for both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

2–4 years of experience in financial operations or a related field.Familiarity with ACH systems and banking products preferred.Proven ability to complete repetitive tasks efficiently and accurately.Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Fast and accurate keyboarding skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook and Word, with the ability to efficiently manage data, create documentation, and support communication and reporting needs.

Hours & Work Schedule

Hours per week: 40Work Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 4:30PM - 1:00AM.
