Objective Responsible for the enforcement of the laws and departmental policy through effective supervision and the daily management assigned personnel. Principal Accountabilities 1. Responsible for first line supervision of assigned personnel
2. Examines and approves daily reports and coordinates work assignments.
3. Keeps Chief advised of the general conditions of the shifts.
4. Disseminates administrative directives and policies and ensures implementation.
5. Assist in the coordination of special events.
6. Evaluates, counsels and advises subordinates.
7. Prepares and forwards complete daily, weekly and monthly reports.
8. Approves/disapproves all personnel leave requests.
9. Responsible for the condition and the repair of all patrol equipment and vehicles.
10. Responsible for all assigned personnel work performance.
11. Evaluates the performance of all assigned personnel and forwards all evaluation to the Chief
12. Performs related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Must be a current Blinn College Police Department Patrol Officer
1. High school graduation or equivalent
2. intermediate TCOLE certification
3. Have the ability to use a variety of police and clerical equipment.
4. Have the ability to effectively communicate with all segments of the college.
5. Be able to function under adverse stressful conditions.
6. Successfully complete first line supervision course.
7. A minimum of 4 years experience as a police officer.
8. No Disciplinary action within the past 12 months.

Minimum Competencies

Minimum Competencies 1. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with instructors, staff, administration, students, the general public and outside agencies.
2. Must possess strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
3. State of Texas Class C driver license. Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications 1. Advanced TCOLE certification
2. Associate degree
3. Previous first line supervision experience or mid-management level supervision.
4. One year of experience as a Police Officer at Blinn College.
5. Prior Supervisory experience of Police Officers. Preferred Competencies
