The PSR is the first point of contact for patients and assists them with registration processes. Responsibilities include patient interviews, collecting and verifying demographic, insurance and financial data, and accurately entering information into computer. The lead PSR works closely with the manager or supervisor and assists in the smooth operation of the department by coordinating workflow and assignments, training, and providing coverage as needed. \u202fExcellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, accurate typing skills, knowledge of office procedures, and ability to work independently required.\u202f \n
Roles and Responsibilities:\n\nGreeting patients and caregivers on arrival in a welcoming and friendly manner. \nProviding support to patients, and their caregivers\nProperly identifying patients utilizing two identifiers, name and date of birth, and scanning copy of patient identification into database. \nRegistering and pre-registering patients in database including collecting accurate demographic and insurance information, verifying insurance, and scanning copy of insurance card into database. \nProper completion and explanation of all required registration forms. \nProper filing of Imaging requisitions. \nAdherence to general admitting policies and procedures to include proper placement of patients on appropriate nursing unit in appropriate status per practitioner order, and proper transfer of patients per practitioner orders. \nTimely and accurate discharge of patients per practitioner order. \nCoverage of Switchboard during lunches, breaks and during the night shift (2300-0700)\nFollows proper procedures for deaths and autopsies to ensure timely handling of deceased patients. \nCollection of copays as required, following cash drawer process. \nAssist department supervisor in coordinating workflow and schedule.\nAssist with training and education. \nProvides coverage as needed. \n Flexibility in assuming other appropriate responsibilities and duties not noted above. \n\n

Required Skills and Experience:\n\nHigh school degree plus two years clerical experience required. \nPrevious healthcare experience and medical terminology preferred.\nPhysical Requirements: Repetitive use of hands and fingers (i.e. use of computer keyboard). May require use of lifting and carrying light loads (up to 10 pounds). Sitting or standing\/walking for long periods of time. \n\n
Location and Travel Requirements:\n\nOnsite - Cayuga Addiction Recovery Services - 334 W. State St.\nDays, Various - Scheduled, rotating Saturday's\n\n
Pay Range Disclosure:\n\n$19.50 to $23.00 per hour based on experience \n\n
