Provide exceptional customer service to patient and families by facilitating business processes that result in the management of efficient patient flow in a fast paced environment. Provide a range of guest services, including way finding and information within the facility. Additional responsibilities include: appointment scheduling. Process all patient payments (co-pays and outstanding balances) including: confirmation of patient charges, collection of payments, balancing of receipts and the reconciliation of cash collections. Navigate electronic medical record, maintain business work queues, and in basket management. Verify and update patient information, obtain referrals and/or authorizations. Respond to inquiries concerning department programs, services and activities. Work Schedule
40 hours per week. Monday thru Friday including one evening shift weekly. 11:00 a.m. ? 7:30 p.m. and rotating Saturdays.

Union AffiliationThis position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
Background ScreeningMichigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
