The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Provide Insurance benefit verification for all infusion patients prior to the start of service. Verification Coordinator maintains proper insurance authorizations for all Managed Care Medicaid and Medicare patients. Verification Coordinator assumes responsibility of data entry functions of patient demographics, billing and payment information along with physician and authorization information.

 

Qualifications:

Required:

HS diploma or GED equivalent required.Must meet requirements of the ADA.Previous knowledge of Insurance Benefit Verification, Prior Authorizations and Reimbursement knowledge required. Successful completion of all Orientation Programs.

Preferred:

Bachelor’s Degree Preferred billing certifications 2+ years of Medical Collections follow-ups is preferred.Preferred coding knowledge

Scheduling Requirements:

Full-Time, Day, Hourly – 37.5 hours a week9-5 PM 30 minute lunch, two 15 minute breaksOn-site 5 days a week, South Plainfield, NJ

Essential Functions:

Complete and track all Medicare CMN’sContact patients PRIOR to the start of care informing them or assigned documented family member of his/her insurance benefits and Financial Responsibilities including any possible co-pays / co-insurance payments.Does Insurance verification for all assigned/established patients and new referrals as soon as received.Enter patient demographic information into the CPR system accurately having been crossed checked with documentation received from Referral Sources.Noting and updating any Insurance Change information in CPR including progress and verification notationObtains prior authorizations and enters a progress note in CPR including authorization number, length of authorized services including codes, dates, etc.Responsible for all completed insurance forms prior to delivery including Benefits Form, Consent to Appeal, Payment Agreement (if applicable) and ABN forms.Responsible for requesting invoices from Billing Dept. for Self-Pay patients sent with delivery and obtaining credit card information along with having the card processed, making sure appropriate funds are available for Self- Payers.
