As a Patient Service Specialist, your responsibility is to deliver an exceptional experience to patients, families and visitors, from the moment they enter to the time they return home. In this role, you will assist patients with everything from registration, insurance eligibility and collecting co-payments, to self-screening and scheduling services. This position provides a strong foundation to advance in your career within various departments at the Cleveland Clinic.
A caregiver in this position works various shifts from of 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. with evening and weekend rotation
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Support the front desk operations, greeting and assisting clients with their needs and inquiries.Manage confidential, personal health information with clients and ensure complete accurate registration, including patient demographics and insurance information while cultivating professional and positive relationships and abiding by HIPAA privacy laws.Coordinate the movement of clients with medical staff, streamlining the flow, ensuring that all parties are working together effectively to provide timely and quality care.Manage and resolve all guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner.Liaise with various clinics to coordinate internal/external referrals, creating a seamless patient experience.Prepare, organize and store information in paper and digital formats.Prepare for clinic visits by reviewing next-day patients and completing preparation activities.Assist with the development, improvement and evaluation of service lines as related to customer service and quality improvement.Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of common areas.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance processing or customer service OR an Associate’s Degree and one year of experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree Knowledge of medical terminology through experience OR formal courseworkPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
