About the unit:  

Newly constructed 19-bed closed observation unit – focus on the following diagnoses:  Chest pain, Syncope, COPD Astha Exacerbation, Pneumonia, TIA, UTI, AKI, Dizziness & Peripheral Vertigo, ESRD and Missed Dialysis, Cellulitis and Intractable Nausea and Vomiting.  Plan of care focused on discharging patients safely with protocolized care pathways within 24 hours    Increased nurse autonomy in facilitating care plan with support of Charge Nurse and Throughput Nurse  Designated provider team (MDs/ APPs) available with Care Management support 

  

JOB SUMMARY:

Perform a variety of secretarial support functions to assist the physician and other clinical staff in the emergency department.

Performs a variety of clerical responsibilities to support the department staff. Exhibit a positive attitude and a willingness to provide assistance to all patients, families and coworkers. Maintain and process medical records for all department visits. Work with various departments within the facility to coordinate supplies and repairs of equipment. Demonstrates teamwork through collaboration and working cooperation within own department and other departments.

REQUIREMENTS:

Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills. Degree or HS Diploma not required. Minimum of 1 year of experience required; 3+ years of experience preferred. Competency with basic computer skills and programs Familiar with medical terminology
