Patient Registration Specialist II

Job Description

K.S.A.'s:

1.    High school graduate required; BS, BA, or CHAA preferred.
2.    Excellent communication/listening skills.
3.    Customer centric approach to engaging with patients and families.
4.    Ability to make quick accurate decisions on a daily basis.
5.    Ability to handle stressful situations.
6.    Proficient computer skills and aptitude.
7.    Problem solving ability and able to handle multiple priorities.
8.    FEMA certification required after hire (ED ONLY).
9.    Minimum one year experience in pre-certification, registration, hospital, clinics, or physician office environment preferred.
 

Job Duties:

1.    Serves as a resource person and role model for registration staff. 
2.    Handles escalated situations and interactions requiring expert knowledge. 
3.    Helps with the coaching of staff. 
4.    Participates in testing of new workflows and or operational changes. 
5.    Becomes the System Management Expert in workflows and daily operations.
6.    Participates in interviewing and selection of new staff. 
7.    Maintains current knowledge of insurance requirements, benefit provisions and pre-certification Requirements. Participates in quality improvement. 
8.    Promotes a cooperative team atmosphere both intra-department as well as inter-department in order to provide the best service to our patients/families.

High School Diploma/GED (Required)

Pay Range

$19.50-$30.23 Hourly
