What will you be doing:

The Patient Liaison is responsible for providing efficient, personalized high-level services to patients to facilitate access to all institutional clinical services and ensure a positive patient experience. This individual serves as a designated patient navigator for patients ensuring timely access to services and providing information and resources to patients.  The Patient Liaison researches and stays current on Cedars-Sinai specialty services and provides that information to the patient, assists with medical record requests, pre-admission paperwork, appointment/test/procedure scheduling and follow-up, and provides value-added personalized high-level concierge services to ensure patient satisfaction. In this role, the individual must understand and demonstrate cultural sensitivity.

Demonstrates full command of foreign language (Spanish) for assigned geographic area to provide interpretation services for patients. Provides real time language interpretation services during physician appointments and/or when receiving hospital services and visits inpatients daily at the hospital. May also be required to translate medical records for second opinion/consultations.Partners with other internal Cedars-Sinai departments, physician offices, and external stakeholders (e. g. embassies, insurance companies, referral agencies, consultants, and third-party vendors) to support the delivery of high-quality patient care. Works effectively with other to meet goals and achieve the optimal patient experience.Serves as the primary contact for triaged inquiries and active patients. Responsible for assessing and addressing the patient’s non-clinical needs (language, diet, religion, cultural, accommodations/ tourism, DME, etc), scheduling and coordinating appointments, handling complaints/ questions, and escalating issues to the appropriate supervisor in a timely manner.Adheres to all patient services protocols and ensures charting is completed in appropriate applications. Performs basic audits for assigned initiatives.Must take and pass the Cedars Sinai Medical Interpreter Exam.
Qualifications

Experience Requirements:

Two (2) plus years’ experience in a concierge/liaison role or equivalent.

Must be able to speak, write, and read in Spanish. (preferably in medical field)

Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
