Are you passionate about helping young people navigate their mental health journey and ensuring families feel supported? Our Adolescent and Early Adult Mental Health Services organization is seeking an empathetic and detail-oriented Intake Coordinator to join our team. This critical role acts as the first point of contact for parents, guardians, case managers, and school counselors, ensuring clients are matched with the program best suited to their needs.
Responsibilities:
+ Build trust and communicate effectively with families and professionals, including parents, guardians, case managers, and school counselors, to understand the needs of adolescents and young adults struggling with mental health challenges.
+ Assess client needs and collaborate with internal teams to identify the most appropriate mental health program based on age, diagnosis, treatment goals, and personal circumstances.
+ Facilitate the intake process by gathering all necessary documentation, discussing available options with interested parties, and ensuring clear communication throughout enrollment.
+ Serve as an advocate for the client and their family, providing guidance, resources, and answers to questions during this critical time.
+ Maintain accurate and organized records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational standards.
+ Work closely with therapists, clinicians, and program directors to ensure a seamless transition into the selected program.
Requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience in a mental health or social services capacity also considered.
+ A minimum of 2 years of experience in intake coordination, mental health services, case management, or related field preferred.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to actively listen, empathize, and engage professionally with diverse populations and stakeholders.
+ Exceptional multitasking abilities, high attention to detail, and proficiency in managing sensitive information effectively.
+ Comfortable using electronic health records (EHR) systems, databases, and office software tools.
+ Familiarity with mental health programs for adolescents and young adults, including outpatient care, intensive therapy programs, and educationally based support systems.
+ Empathy, patience, and a dedication to supporting families through challenging circumstances.
