**SUMMARY****
Under direct supervision of the Patient Financial Services Supervisor or Regional Manager, coordinates and performs the daily operations of the business operations department in a small to medium size practice. Performs various business functions including check-in, cash handling, cashier and patient collections to ensure that organizational and financial objectives are supported. Responsible for working and completing all business operations work queues. Is a resource for patients, staff and other departments regarding business and financial policies and procedures.
_EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS_
* High School diploma or equivalency certificate (e.g. GED, HiSET, TASC Test) from an accredited institution or governmental unit required.
o Related Associate’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
_EXPERIENCE _
* 3-5 years patient financial experience within a medical practice or hospital.
* Comprehensive knowledge of insurance concepts, coverage and administration processes.
* Travel is required between our Needham and Wellesley locations for support, based on team need.
_SKILLS_
* Excellent interpersonal skills needed with the ability to interact effectively with patients and medical professionals at all levels.
* Ability to work and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
* Leadership potential.
* Strong computer skills including electronic medical record and billing system required.
