Make an Impact! The Financial Counseling Specialist partners with Social Workers/Care Coordinators/Case Managers and other members of a patient's care team to assist patients with navigating their insurance benefits, applying for benefits, including financial assistance, and understanding their financial responsibilities for emergency department care, acute hospital care and post-acute care. The Financial Counseling Specialist works on-site at their assigned hospital campus, and as needed, may be required to remotely support other campuses.

You will also remain up-to-date on departmental procedures, payer contracts and insurance billing regulations.

Position: Patient Financial Counselor
Shift: Day. Mon-Fri. Onsite.

Experience: 
2-3 years in healthcare billing experience and/or accounts receivable experience is required. 1 year of Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of insurance contracts, billing regulations and medical terminology required. 

Education: 
High School Diploma / GED required. Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Licensures/Certifications: 
Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS)/American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM), or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR)/Healthcare Financial Management Association desirable.
