Full-Time Patient & Family Concierge (UPMC Presbyterian/4D/5D)
Interested in starting a career in healthcare and love helping others? Join us at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital as a Full-Time Patient & Family Concierge (PFC) on our Cardiology Unit, 4D/5D. This role offers a meaningful way to make a difference for patients and families by enhancing their hospital experience from arrival to discharge.
As a PFC, you’ll support patients, families, and clinical staff by performing a mix of bedside, stocking, and administrative tasks. You’ll assist with everything from guiding visitors and delivering meals to transporting patients and managing supplies—ensuring smooth, compassionate care every step of the way.
Key Responsibilities
+ Greet and escort patients and visitors.
+ Assist with patient transport, meal delivery, and supply replenishment.
+ Maintain clean, organized spaces and report maintenance needs.
+ Answer phones, respond to call lights, and provide non-clinical assistance
About 4D/5D;
Unit 4D/5D are medical cardiology units, each with 18 telemetry beds in private rooms. We care for patients with various cardiac diagnoses, including heart failure, pulmonary arterial hypertension, peripheral vascular disease, cardiac rhythm disturbances, cardiac catheterization, post-pacemaker/ICD placement, and preparing patients for heart transplant and/or LVAD placement. We also have the ability for nursing staff to determine step down status care for our patients. The culture on 4D/5D is one that emphasizes patient education, encouraging lifestyle changes that will have a positive impact on heart disease as well as promoting home care. We have a positive, high-performing team that includes physicians and APPs alongside our unit staff.

+ High school diploma, or active enrollment in a high school/GED program, or one year of previous work experience in lieu of a diploma/GED
+ Must demonstrate compassion, enthusiasm, and a strong desire to provide an exceptional experience for patients and families at all times
+ Previous experience in healthcare or customer service is preferred, but not required
+ Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
