Patient Care Technician
UPMC Presbyterian is hiring a full-time Patient Care Technician to support our Ambulatory Surgery Department. This is the perfect opportunity if you’re looking for a daylight schedule and a supportive team environment — no weekends, overnights, holidays, or call! Schedule: Monday–Friday with rotating hours (5:00am–1:30pm or 8:00am–4:30pm). What You’ll Do: + Assist with patient procedures, therapies, and activities of daily living. + Perform core nursing assistant responsibilities (vital signs, glucose checks, Foley care, weights, I&O). + Gain experience in advanced skills such as phlebotomy, dressing changes, catheter removal, bladder scans, and more. + Support patients and families by providing education under RN direction. + Contribute to the smooth flow of the unit — from patient transport to responding to call lights. + High school diploma or GED required. + Must also have one of the following: + 1 Year of general healthcare experience + 6 months of experience as UPMC Nursing Assistant/CNA with PCT competency achieved within 120 days of hire/transfer/promotion for those with less than 1 year of experience + Enrollment in PT/OT/PA program or related healthcare training program with completion of at least one clinical rotation + Completion of a bachelor's degree in a health sciences field. + Healthcare experience STRONGLY preferred. + Upon hire: Successful completion of UPMC patient care technician class and eRecord training. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** + CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire ACLS preferred + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) + Act 34 **UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran**
