Job Summary

TITLE:   Patient Care Technician

SHIFT:  Evenings (8 hours)  

TIME:  3:00 pm- 11:30 pm

HOLIDAYS:  Work 3 holidays per year

What You'll DoPerform ADLsTrach suctioning and urinary catheteringMonitor patient status, record and document vital signs, Is & Os, blood sugars, and reporting any outside parameters to nurse.Stock and maintain inventory of specialized areas.Transport patients to and from designated locations.Assist with admitting and discharge procedures.Perform other related duties as assignedResponsibilities*Provides moderate to complex assistance to pediatric patients.Required Qualifications*Graduation from high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical requirements

This position requires moderate standing/walking, as well as lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring of patientDesired Qualifications*Reasonable knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in patient care activities.CNA certificate.Experience in patient-facing workPediatric patient experience Modes of Work

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening
