Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on patient care, including assisting with ADLs: bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulating, turning, and repositioning
Monitor and record vital signs, weights, I&O, point-of-care testing, and telemetry
Support HAC/PSI prevention (TEDs/SCDs), bladder scans, specimen collection, simple dressings, restraints, and patient transport
Assist with patient procedures and provide instruction to patients and families under RN guidance
Participate in department projects and quality initiatives
Report equipment malfunctions and maintain professional, respectful relationships with colleagues and other departments
Respond to call lights, pass meals, and assist with unit activities as needed
Maintain documentation in the medical record according to established procedures
Adhere to all hospital policies, safety procedures, and standard precautions
Participate in self-review, professional development, and competency assessments
Advanced Skills (as needed – training provided):
Phlebotomy/venipuncture
Peripheral IV removal
Indwelling Foley catheter removal
Basic arrhythmia monitoring
12-lead EKG
NG tube clamping and removal
