Job Responsibilities
Accurately dispense prescription medications to patients according to physician orders and pharmacy regulationsReview prescriptions for clinical appropriateness, potential drug interactions, allergies, and contraindicationsCounsel patients on proper medication usage, potential side effects, storage, and adherence to therapyProvide immunizations and other health screenings in compliance with state laws and pharmacy protocolsManage and verify insurance claims and prior authorizations to facilitate medication accessMaintain accurate and complete patient medication records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAAOversee the day-to-day operations of the retail pharmacy, including inventory management, ordering, and storage of pharmaceuticalsEnsure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as accreditation standards governing pharmacy practiceCollaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy and resolve prescription-related issuesEducate pharmacy staff and technicians on policies, procedures, and best practices to maintain quality and safety standardsRespond to patient inquiries and provide professional advice on over-the-counter medications and general health concernsPosition Qualifications
Minimum Required:
A Bachelor’s of Science Degree (B.S.) or Pharm.D. in Pharmacy from an accredited college or universityLicensed as a Pharmacist in New York State or NYS internship permitPreferred:
One year experience as a pharmacist-----
