Description
We are looking for a dedicated Patient Care Coordinator to join our healthcare team in Chicago, Illinois. This Contract-to-Permanent position focuses on providing financial services and support to patients, ensuring they understand their insurance coverage, billing processes, and related procedures. The role also requires collaboration with insurance providers to guarantee accurate and timely claim processing.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver detail-oriented and high-quality service to patients, their families, medical staff, and other stakeholders while adhering to departmental policies.
• Review and verify department accounts and communications, providing monthly reports to the department director.
• Develop and execute a quality improvement plan to enhance departmental performance.
• Assist the department director by troubleshooting issues and attending meetings in their absence or as requested.
• Establish and implement departmental goals and objectives to ensure operational efficiency.
• Monitor inpatient admissions for case management details and authorization requirements.
• Conduct daily calls to facilitate Clinical Documentation Meetings.
• Prepare and distribute daily reports for the Upfront In-House Log.
• Assist patients by scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and addressing financial concerns.
• Handle claim denials and collaborate with insurance companies to resolve issues effectively.
The salary range for this position is $20/hr. to $22/hr. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in patient financial services or a related field.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to actively listen and convey information clearly.
• Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and handle sensitive situations with discretion.
• Demonstrated flexibility in managing fast-paced and dynamic departmental functions.
• Proficiency in patient scheduling, medical records management, and appointment coordination.
• Experience in managing inpatient records and resolving claim denials.
• Familiarity with financial services processes in a healthcare setting.
